Knockdown Dragout

Llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllet's Get Ready to Rumbllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllle!

Well, if you haven't already heard, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor has announced that she will retire from the Supreme Court. And, within minutes, the Left has already started taking potshots at President Bush. As I was driving around to get lunch, the news announced that a Louisville-area public prosecutor opined that the President would select a "right-wing ideologue" to replace the retiring O'Connor.

First thing, Senate Republicans must get rid of the filibuster for presidential nominees of any kind (not on legislation). Change the rule. No more quackery from the senate Democrats. If they don't like the nominee, let them cast their vote against the nominee. The constitution requires that the Senate of the United States to "advise and consent" on presidential nominees -- a filibuster is only a means by which the Senate is forced by a petty minority to abrogate its constitutional responsibility to "advise and consent."

Stay tuned.
